About Wakelanders

Wakelanders is a curated online retailer for coastal and Gulf boaters - Carolinas, Florida, and Texas first. We carry anchoring and docking gear, marine electronics, fishing tackle, watersports equipment, safety gear, and boat maintenance essentials. We stay small on purpose. If we cannot explain what a product is for and who it fits, it does not go on the site.

Why this shop exists

I’m Sean Sanders, founder of Wakelanders.com and of Gearlanders.com, our overland and truck-gear shop. Gearlanders was built the same way this shop is: smaller manufacturers, plain-language product pages, and direct brand relationships instead of stacked distributors.

Wakelanders started in 2025 to apply that method on the water. Work with manufacturers who specialize in a category. Write specs that match the product. Skip the markup that comes from extra middlemen.

We are not a 40-year coastal chandlery, and we are not pretending to be one. We are a focused retailer, growing one well-chosen line at a time.

Wakelanders is a sister shop to Gearlanders. Same operator. Separate catalog.

How we choose gear

• Specialist makers over generalist house brands.
• Specs you can use: size, material, rating, fit, and the conditions it's actually for.
• Direct brand relationships. We buy from the companies we list and do not list Wakelanders inventory on Amazon or other marketplaces.
• Serviceable, not disposable. We look for parts and designs you can maintain or replace, not mystery-brand imports built to be thrown away.

Who operates the shop

Wakelanders is a DBA of Planet Offroad LLC (Arizona).

Orders are sold and supported by a small team, not a call-center script. Questions on fit, use, or an order go to people who actually work the catalog.
